Anybody out there know what this thing is? I tried to get it from various angles to give anyone looking at it a good idea, but I’m not sure how successful I was. I’ve certainly never seen anything like it. Anybody?

Beautiful and beneficial Giant Ichneumon wasp, Genus Megarhyssa. I hope she was found dead.

that’s a female ichneumon wasp. they’re non-aggressive and can’t sting.
